How it started
My six-year-old wanted a bedtime story where he was the hero. Not a “fill in the name” book. He wanted to see himself fighting tigers in our backyard. So I built him one with a Python script and some API calls. It was terrible. He loved it. He asked for another one the next night.
After making a dozen of these, his best friend came over and they wanted a story with both of them in it. Her mom saw it and asked me to make one for her daughter’s birthday. She cried when she saw it. That’s when I knew this was a product, not a side project.
What it is now
You upload photos of your kid, pick a setting and a theme, and PageWeaver generates a fully illustrated storybook where they’re the main character. Consistent illustrations throughout (the hardest problem), a real narrative arc, and print-ready quality.
A custom illustrated children’s book used to cost $2,000+ and take weeks. At $20 and 10 minutes, any parent can make one on a Tuesday night because their kid asked for a story about tigers.
