Michael Woodworth

I'm Michael. I build software for things that exist in the real world.

I co-founded Upverter (YC W11), built it for seven years, and sold it to Altium. Then I built the software that runs a real factory floor at Sheertex. Now I'm building AI products and doing fractional CTO work with early-stage companies from Toronto.

Headless HQ

Building 2026 – Now

I got tired of spending most of my time on coordination instead of building. Headless HQ is a system of AI agents that handle marketing, sales, finance, support, and onboarding across my products. I make the decisions. The agents do the emails, handoffs, and follow-ups. I'm building it for myself first, then for other solo founders.

PageWeaver

Active 2026 – Now

Started because my six-year-old wanted to be in a storybook. I built him one with AI, then built another, then his friend's mom asked for one and cried when she saw it. Now it's a real product. Upload photos of your kid, pick a story, and get a fully illustrated book where they're the main character. $20 instead of $2,000.

Get Indexed

Active 2026 – Now

People are asking ChatGPT and Claude instead of Googling. If the AI doesn't mention your brand, you're losing customers you'll never know about. Get Indexed tracks whether AI engines cite you, how often, for which queries, and tells you what to change so they do.

Cortex

Completed 2022 – 2025

Built the factory operating system for Sheertex (SRTX), the company making indestructible hosiery with industrial knitting machines. Cortex connected every machine on the floor, every production run, and every business metric into one piece of software. Only connected hosiery factory in the world.

Upverter

Acquired 2011 – 2018

Co-founded a cloud-based EDA platform for hardware engineers. PCB design and circuit schematics in the browser, before that was normal. Went through Y Combinator in Winter 2011. Operated for 7+ years, built by a distributed team, and sold to Altium.

If your engineering org is becoming the bottleneck, or you need serious technical leadership before you can justify a full-time CTO, I might be the right person. I work embedded, not advisory. Let's talk →

I go deep before I go wide. When I take on a technical problem, I understand it at the level of the machine. I've been on factory floors. I know what real use looks like. More about how I work →
