About
I'm an engineer in Toronto. I've been doing this for about 15 years, mostly at the intersection of software and physical things. I co-founded Upverter (Y Combinator W11), a cloud-based hardware design tool that was acquired by Altium in 2017.
After that I spent three and a half years at SRTX (Sheertex) where I built their manufacturing platform, Cortex, from the ground up. It ties together machine control, production data, and business operations into one system. I also led the automation, controls, and materials engineering teams there.
These days I do fractional CTO work with early-stage companies, mostly ones dealing with hard technical problems in hardware, manufacturing, or complex systems. I prefer working with companies where I can actually build, not just advise.
I also spend a lot of my own time building things. I'm interested in AI applications, SaaS, developer tools, community utilities, and whatever else catches my attention. Most of it is Python or TypeScript, and everything I build runs in Docker.
